The desk behind the guide
Peterborough Card Steps is written and signed collectively by the Card Steps field desk. There is no named author and no personal byline. The desk describes the venues from the outside, as a field guide.
The guide is independent: it is not a casino and not the operator's website. It accepts no bets and keeps no accounts. It has no tie to Shorelines Casino Peterborough, Great Canadian Entertainment, Kawartha Downs, OLG or the AGCO.
Sources and the check date
The field desk verified every fact in the guide on October 14, 2026. For Shorelines Casino Peterborough, it relied on the operator's Shorelines page together with its rewards, buffet, code of conduct and accessibility pages. The Kawartha Downs website and the City of Peterborough transit page were also read. Ontario rules and help lines were checked against ConnexOntario, PlaySmart, OLG, iGaming Ontario and the AGCO.
Some things are not published, and the guide says so rather than guess. The operator gives no opening hours for the casino floor, and no holiday hours are posted at present. The casino page lists no hours or prices for the restaurant and bar or for The Buffet. Its Ontario rewards pages do not say how much play earns, what points are worth or any tier rules.
Every clock time in the guide is Peterborough local time, Eastern Time (America/Toronto). Holiday hours should be checked on the operator's site, greatcanadian.com, before a visit.
Calculators and pictures
The calculators in the guide run inside your browser. They work from two inputs: the hours the venues publish and the numbers a reader types in. Nothing is sent anywhere, and nothing is saved except the colour theme you choose, kept in the open tab. A calculator result is only as current as the hours checked on October 14, 2026.
Every picture in the guide is an AI-generated scene with no people in it. None is a photograph of Shorelines Casino Peterborough or of Kawartha Downs.
Where the money comes from
Only the home page has paid links, and every one of them is labelled Ad. There are three of them: a button in the header, a block just after the card check, and a block near the bottom of the page. Each goes to the same partner, a private online casino that gives the guide a commission and may change over time. Neither Shorelines Casino Peterborough nor its operator pays the guide. Inner pages, including this one, have no paid links.
Questions we get asked
When did the desk last check the facts?
The desk last checked every fact on October 14, 2026. That check covered the operator's pages, the Kawartha Downs website, the City of Peterborough transit page and Ontario sources.
Is the guide paid for by the casino?
Shorelines Casino Peterborough does not pay for it, and neither does its operator. The guide earns a commission from one private online casino partner, linked from the home page under the label Ad.
Why does the guide give no floor hours?
The operator does not publish opening hours for the casino floor, so the guide does not invent them. The slots run for as long as the casino is open. Holiday hours should be checked on greatcanadian.com.
